Snellius – Interxion-Digital Realty & Lenovo

Snellius is the newest supercomputer that’s being build in the Netherlands. Interxion and Lenovo wanted to create a documentary about the build-up to the official opening by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands on the 16th of September 2021.

We chose to approach this documentary first and foremost by looking at what a supercomputer does and who uses it. This way we got in touch with Henk A. Dijkstra, professor in Climate Science at Utrecht
University. From there on we step further into the technical specifications and requirements to build and host such a supercomputer by interviewing people from Surf, Lenovo and Interxion-Digital Realty who all play a big role in the realisation of Snellius who will be done in 2023.

The documentary was shown at the release event and can still be seen on all social channels of Interxion and Lenovo. Also different shorts were created to announce the documentary was about to come out.
